Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Research seeks a researcher to join our quantum computing team at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY.
IBM Quantum is driving research and development of the industry's most advanced quantum computing hardware and software to provide the world's most sophisticated quantum cloud services. Critical to the realization of a continuing series of systems to enable these cloud services is the specification, planning and execution of the quantum hardware roadmap. We are seeking a proven leader in the quantum computing systems field with a record of technological success and technical acumen to drive architectural decisions in specifying and outlining a roadmap of hardware to enable services to explore quantum applications and quantum error correction. The candidate is expected to work across a multi-disciplinary team to scope and document system designs as well as to lay the foundations for an externally facing hardware systems ecosystem. The individual must be strong at building relationships and dealing with a breadth of technical backgrounds. All candidates must have a PhD in Physics and have worked in quantum computing for at least 10 years with team leadership experience of at least 5 years.
